2. Competition Format

2.1.1 The tournament is played with a group stage and double elimination pool system in a best-of-three (Bo3) mode. 2.1.2 Each player will play a minimum of 3 games. After the 3 games in the group stage, the top two players in each group will qualify for the double-elimination stage up to the final. The brackets in the double-elimination stage are not randomly seeded. If you came first in your group, you will play against a player who came second in his group, and vice versa. If you came first in group A, you will play the player who came 2nd in group B, etc. 2.1.3 The final is played in a best-of-three (Bo5) mode. The player coming from the Loser Bracket has to win 2 (Bo5) Matches to be claimed winner while the player coming from the Winner Bracket has to win only 1 (Bo5) Match to be claimed the Winner. 2.1.4 If a player does not show for the game or forfeits during the game, he/she loses the game with the maximum score of 3-0. 2.1.5 It is the responsibility of the players to keep up their played matches and advise administration appropriately. Three points will be awarded for a win and zero points for a loss in the group stage. In the event of ties in point standings, the following sequence will be used to determine who advances to the elimination stage, and who wins his group: 1. Points earned from matches won. 2. Result of head to head game. 3. Game difference: Net Games = matches won against matches lost. 4. If two players still tied, a Bo3 match will be played to determine the winner.

2.1.6 Players need to prepare decks before the tournament date. Players must submit four classes to play while registering for the tournament. Before each match, a coin toss will be done and the loser must ban an opponent’s class while the winner does the same afterwards. The players must play that game (Bo3 or Bo5) with only the remaining 3 classes.

2.1.7 Once both opponents are seated and bans are ready, each player has 5 minutes to sort out last minute changes to a class and start. Between a match and another players are only allowed 30 seconds to start and aren't allowed to leave the duelling room at any cost. Should a player leave the room one must contact a referee immediately and should one have a valid reason to do so he also must contact a referee first since a forfeit loss can be awarded should the referee agree so. Winners of a round (i.e. 1 match in Bo3 or Bo5) must change classes, while the loser can play any class. This means that during a Bo5, in order to win, one must win with all three classes.

2.1.8 During the match one cannot talk to no one except his opponent or a match referee. Failure in doing so one can be disqualified from the tournament if the referee thinks so.

2.1.9 Players are allowed to bring their own pen and paper and own notes to write things before/during & after their matches. The use of deck trackers and similar programs are not recommended and a player may request the opponent to switch it off for the duration of the game if he so wishes. If the opponent fails to comply administration needs to be notified and appropriate action will be taken.

3. Match Regulations

3.1 Deck Setup

3.1.2 Each participant will be asked to list 4 classes he will be using during the tournament when registering. For each class one can use different decks but cannot change the specific classes throughout the tournament.

3.1.2 If a participant loses a game within a Bo3 match, the participant has to pick an other hero deck for the next game while the other participant must play with the very same deck again.

3.1.3 If during the deciding match of a set (general score of 1-1), both players lose (ex: both heroes have 2 HP each and one player uses Hellfire), the match will be remade with both players using the same deck.

  • For the other possible scores in a set (0-0, 1-0, 0-1, etc), if both players lose a match according to the situation described above, the general score for the set will be unchanged
